On:site Gallery
On:site is an online gallery launched by Non-Objective to develop exhibition, artistic, and curatorial projects in digital space — without the constraints that usually come with finding and preparing a physical venue. Accessible around the clock, each project nonetheless follows the same principle as any exhibition: contrary to the internet’s default logic, it runs for a fixed period, and disappears. No archive.

The gallery opens with its inaugural exhibition — Katya Sikacheva’s photographic series, collecting English-language signage found across Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, shot between 2024 and 2026.Away from where it’s the first language, English (being the most global language on earth) starts to come loose from its own function. The words are still correct — OPEN does mean open — but something in how they’re used slips: a label with no one especially reading it, a word chosen more for its shape and formality than for what it communicates. Language becomes closer to texture than to meaning — printed, etched, taped, stencilled onto whatever surface happens to carry it — and the sign carries on saying its one correct thing to a street that mostly doesn’t need it.
